It happened! My little girl is getting married. I’m still trying to figure out how my baby grew up so quickly. But, we’re thrilled to be gaining a son in law. In honor of them, I’m doing a post on wedding apps.
Our family has always sought out ways to streamline life. For us, that means finding ways to get things done efficiently so we can enjoy the people and events in our lives. I love apps that help streamline tasks. Surprisingly, there aren’t as many wedding apps on the market as I expected. That’s not a bad thing. Actually, it made writing this post easier.
Here are some great wedding apps to consider for your big day.
AppyCouple isn’t just an app. It’s the “full package” where wedding apps and planners are concerned. AppyCouple makes it easy and straightforward for you to design a website that captures your love story and engagement. There are lots of templates and color theme options so you can get your site up and running quickly. Then, keep wedding guests updated as you plan your wedding day. Your guests can make travel arrangements and RSVP for your wedding easily using the AppyCouple app or website. They can also interact with the bridal party. This is a great feature as those in the bridal party are able to easily answer questions for guests during the busy wedding week. AppyCouple also lets your guests use point and shoot mode on their app to capture your wedding moments in real time or upload photos to your website. Don’t worry about the occasional ugly photo. You’ll be able to delete them.
AppyCouple carries a price point that some may feel is a bit steep given all the other costs associated with an upcoming wedding. But, this wedding app has so many features, I think you’ll find the price point is well worth it.
LadyMarry Wedding Planner
LadyMarry Wedding Planner is a great free wedding app. This app is great for busy couples who are trying to host a great wedding, and save on costs by doing some of the work themselves. LadyMarry is the wedding app where you can plan a dream wedding by collaborating. You’ll have a monthly wedding checklist, hands-on tips, and a day-of timeline, just like a professional wedding planner. Wedding collaboration is the best feature of this wedding app. You can invite your partner, wedding party, family members, and wedding vendors as your wedding team. You can share your wedding checklists and then delegate any wedding to-do to those helping with that task in just one tap. This wedding app has so many features, it’s hard to believe it free.
Want a professional wedding planner, but find the wedding budget won’t allow for it? WeddingWire is definitely a wedding app you’ll want to check out. This app offers so much. From to-do lists complete with a countdown to reviews of over 200,000 vendors and venues, this app has it all. Need ideas and inspiration for your wedding? Look through wedding galleries from other couples and connect with them for tips and advice. Be sure to check out the website where you’ll find additional features like an online seating chart and a hashtag generator.
Think of this free app as your personal planner without the bulk of all that paper. It’s preloaded with tasks to guide you through all the to-dos you’ll have when planning a wedding. You’ll even receive notifications as you near deadlines for things like mailing invitations and making payments. You can rest easy knowing details won’t slip through the cracks during this fun but busy time of your life. You can even share your “event” with your fiancé, mother, or members of your bridal party. Sharing will help streamline your efforts by ensuring everyone has access to the same info.

Wedding Planner – The Knot
We can’t discuss wedding apps and not include the Wedding Planner from The Knot. Yes, this is the app from the #1 wedding website. If you’ve already signed up at The Knot, then using the app is a no brainer as it syncs your TheKnot.com account across all your devices. The app is a virtual personalized organizer full of free wedding planning tools. These including a checklist, a wedding countdown, a budget planner, a venue finder, and more. The budget tool in the Wedding Planner helps keep you on top of your overall wedding budget so you know where are financially.
In addition to the Wedding Planner app, couples who have created a wedding website through The Knot can use the Guest List app. This app from The Knot lets you easily keep track of your wedding guest invites and RSVPs. Your guests can RSVP directly through your wedding website.
The wedding apps above are great. But, planning your big day is all about productivity. And, it might be easier and just as effective to use some of the top rated productivity apps to plan your wedding. Especially if you use these already and are familiar with them.
You can’t beat Evernote when it comes to organization. Evernote gives you the tools to keep all of your information and ideas in one place. This makes Evernote the perfect wedding planning app! All the task needed for your wedding can be managed in Evernote. Make to-do lists for every wedding project. You can even take a picture or a sketch of ideas to save it to your list. Use the group notebook to brainstorm for your big day with your bridal party. This is especially helpful if members of your bridal party live out of town. You never have to worry about misplacing a note. Search all of your notes for keywords, even across all your devices.
The basic plan is free, and offers most of the features with limited monthly uploads. Evernote Plus is 34.99/year, and comes with additional features, like the ability to access your notes while offline.

Many are already using Slack for business and love it. So, why not use all the group messaging features you love about Slack for your wedding. Really, planning a fantastic wedding day is all about productivity, communication, and organization. You can use a wedding app. But, if you already use an app which does this for you and you love it, use it. I could write about all the great ways to use Slack for your wedding. But, Mashable has a great post on using Slack to plan your wedding already.
When I think wedding apps, I immediately think Pinterest. I realize it isn’t technically a “wedding app,” but let’s face it, Pinterest still a favorite among brides-to-be when it comes to planning a wedding. And, companies who specialize in weddings know it. Cakes, dresses, flowers, décor-you’ll find ideas from retailers and DIY bloggers at Pinterest. Follow other brides-to-be for inspiration. And, if you prefer to keep your wedding style a secret until the big day, that’s no problem. You can easily create and pin to secret boards.
While you are being productive let’s knock out some tasks on that wedding list! You’ll soon be attending bridal showers and rehearsal dinners. You’ll be surprised at how full the calendar will get. So, the ability to get things done online in a snap will give you more time to spend with friends, family, and that special one you love.
If you work online, chances are you know of Canva. But, did you know you can create gorgeous wedding invitations and programs for your wedding using it? Using Canva’s Wedding Program Template, you can easily create a beautiful guide for your big day. Your wedding program will look professional without the professional price tag! If you’re newly engaged and want to send out of town and close family save the date cards, you can create those on Canva. It will help you save your wedding budget for wedding expenses. Trust me, those expenses will begin to add up quickly! Don’t forget invitations for the rehearsal dinner.
Canva is free to use. Some designs have a price point. But, there are plenty of free designs.

And, for those of you who really love apps, I’m throwing in a couple additional wedding apps. Both of these apps have some great features.
The Wedding Pics app is the perfect wedding app for couples who want their guests to share photos and videos of the wedding day. Wedding Pics gives your guests the ability to view and share photos during your event in one convenient place, without needing to search for a hashtag. You can also create photo albums for your guests to view leading up to the big day. Couples can allow social sharing for guests or opt to keep photos for guest viewing only. Then, they can decide which photos they want to share. This gives couples full control over their photos.
Zola Wedding Registry
Gone are the days of running from one store to the next to create numerous wedding registries. Universal registries now give couples the easy option of adding items from any website to their wedding registry. And, just when you think it can’t get any better in comes Zola. Zola is one of the most popular wedding registries right now, and it’s easy to see why. You can access it through your computer, but what makes it so much fun is the app. It has a gift suggestion tool with a “Tinder-like” feel to it. Swipe left to pass on the suggestion or swipe right to add the suggested product to your wish list. You can also use the app to scan bar codes. So, it’s easy to add items you see while shopping to your list at Zola. My favorite feature is the ability to add cash/honeymoon funds to your wishlist, or enable guests to go in together on higher price point items you have on your list.
Remember there is an app for everything. Select the wedding app that fits the tasks you want to streamline. If you find the app isn’t serving you, don’t be afraid to try another wedding app. What’s most important is you enjoy every moment of your wedding from planning the event through your wedding day!
